Intermediate Project Manager, Birmingham (Permanent) Salary DOE
Our client is a long established international group of companies providing a wide range of specialist, professional consultancy services on construction projects throughout the world. They employ approximately 200 staff in the UK, and a similar number overseas. Position Intermediate Project Manager (Quantity Surveyor) MRICS - ideally from a private consulting background.
Within the UK they have a strong London presence and a good network of regional offices (Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Leamington Spa, Leeds, London, Oxford, and Southampton.) They also have European offices in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the Czech Republic; and overseas offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Philippines, Shanghai, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Qatar, Guangzhou , and Beijing.
The Birmingham Office was recently formed and is very much in its infancy thus providing excellent opportunities for progression within the organisation. Thus our client is now looking to recruit a high calibre Intermediate Project Manager to be appointed to assist in both project delivery and overall office development.
The main purpose of this position is to deliver projects and assist in the overall office development.

Person Spec
· From a private consulting background · Recently professionally qualified (degree plus MRICS) or in last year of Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). · From QS background with experience of and a strong desire to progress in PM*EA · Min 2 yrs post degree experience · Can demonstrate technical skills at appropriate level. · Can demonstrate an undertaking of CPD. · Keen to take an active and positive role in all external and internal meetings and discussions. · Ideally a wide range of experience in different sectors to include residential, education, health and commercial. · A procedures based approach. Standard question to check this out would be- do they use a Project Execution plan for all projects? What is their approach to management of change? · Experience of at least one programming tool, preferably MS Project. · Competent use of word, excel and ideally a database package. · Good understanding of contract administration and procurement techniques. · Well developed interpersonal skills. Will need to manage and motivate teams on projects. · Keen to progress and provide appropriate support to others. · Demonstrates an understanding of team roles. · Confidence to present personally at interviews. · Comfortable in social marketing situations. · Keen to assist Director in work winning situations. · Knowledge of the Midlands marketplace.
Salary Package
· Salary: negotiable, typically of the order of £21,000 - £30,000 (Dependant on experience) · Car or allowance £4,300 pa on Qualification · At discretion of the company a Performance Related Bonus may be paid in July of each year. · Company pension scheme · Private medical insurance · 23 days annual leave plus statutory holidays (typically 8 days)
